I'm a member of Cypress Gardens Photos MSG board. Starliner will be expensive to move, maybe thats what they meant, or, they were fed a load of garbage by Land South about Starliner's condition. She was fully functional on the last day of CG's ride section being open, Also, wood coasters have sat dormant longer than Starliner , and were still in good enough condition to be reactivated after some restoration work. I hear Leap the Dips was downright pathetic, yet they got it going again.

Well, I was just going by what the owners of the new MSAP said. They really wanted to bring it back to panama city beach. I wish I could see the condition of the starliner for myself even though I don't know squat about roller coasters. Keep me updated if you hear anything about the condition and fate of the beloved starliner.

Starliner has been sitting Idle at Cypress Gardens for the same amount of time was sitting idle at old MSAP. It should not have deteriorated that fast. Also, is this the experts you're talking about, or Land South "relaying what the experts have said" about Starliner. I would not believe one word that comes out of Land South's mouth. Also, Triple Hurricane should also be in bad shape if Starliner is, yet Legoland is keeping Triple Hurricane in their plans.

Miracle Strip @ Pier Park I truly hate to burst everyone's bubble (and there are literally thousands of you wanting the Starliner back), but we have looked into acquiring the Starliner and it is in terrible shape. Several experts including the FL State inspector have said they would not touch it for any amount of money. Their conclusion is that... the coaster is beyond repair. We'll have to look at other options... maybe a "Son of Starliner".

there is a new miracle strip amusement park opening up in panama city beach next month at Pier Park. The owners of the new MSAP were going to buy it, but the FL inspector said that's impossible to save now and they wouldn't touch it for any amount of money. I guess cypress gardens let the roller coaster rot or get weathered real bad. This has been confirmed on facebook by the owners of the new MSAP. The starliner was the oldest coaster in florida history, but now it's space mountain.
Fantastic - they've rebuilt it even wonkier and warped than the original was, the profile is even less precise. Modern coasters are great (Balder at Liseberg is one of my favourites, probably well over 100 rides on it now) but old woodies are a gem of an experience that should be preserved where possible. It may physically be new, but Starliner looks 'older' in style than it ever did at Miracle Strip. I must get over to ride it next year...
