Cat Lady hoarding 90 sick, dying, and dead cats

Cat hoarding results in the death of many animals across the country because of starvation and hygiene.

"There were about 90 cats here, and most need to be euthanized, so many were so sick, dead and dying cats around," said Andi Elliott.

Andi Elliot with the humane society took graphic pictures of dead cats, sick and dying cats, injured cats, and a rather dirty home.

"I picked up a crate and there was a dead cat in there. We boxed up a lot of sick kittens last night," said Andi Elliott.

Andi got permission from the family to remove many of the cats from Wendy Barnes home last night in Lewisville. Wendy has since been taken to the hospital for evaluation.

"it's appalling. Then when you go in there and actually pick up kittens and all dying in your hands. It's hard to sleep," said Andi Elliott.

What's even worse is a different family member Lisa Barnes called the cops this morning claiming trespassing when the humane society returned. The rest of the cats were not taken care of when I left the scene.

"Neighbors have the tendency to be quiet about things like this, when a situation goes on like this, not only the animals need help, the person needs help," said Andi Elliott.

Help the Humane Society was willing to give, but officer Miller told both me and Andi that if we returned, we'd be arrested for trespassing.

"This lady said she was going to take them to the veterinarian and we agreed to meet back here again today, and start working on the rest of them. There is no one here to take care of them, no one to water and feed them. So many are still sick, they need to either be euthanized or big time medical care and it's going to be expensive," said Andi Elliott.

Neither Andi or I stepped foot on the Barnes property today, we just watched helplessly from the road unable to do anything more.

No charges have been filed against the homeowner Wendy Barnes.

I am a 28 year old, me and my husband own 12 cats.. Only 1 of which we picked out on our own, we got it a month into our relationship 9 years ago. Other than that, all the others showed up on their own, hungry or dehydrated we'd open our doors to them, feed them and water them, and they just never left. But ALL are properly cared for, they have a HUGE kiddie pool for a cat box, which is full of the most expensive sand, Cleaned daily, and and all are current on shots. But THIS video is Awful!!!

@cmethrough I'm glad someone is there to take care of the animals. Our local Four Paws pet adoption cares for 90-100 cats daily, and all volunteer work.

@kamrie2020 I hope you find your cat!!Im 14 and i had a lil black boy kitten.A year later he was a HUGE boy.He acted like a baby still though.He cudled and loved water.He loved being held like a baby and wraped in a towel,even pushed in a stroller.He also LOVED PLASTIC BAGSxD He is such a freespirit he'd bring me home dead birds and dead rabits that he caught himself.He was declawed as well so it shocked my family and I..He sadly ran away.Idk where he is but i miss him soo much.I wish u luck!!

If Man is above the animal, it should be our duty to help them when they cannot help themselves. Finding food is hard if your a stray a well balanced meal is a dream. Humans have full access to the food, we should not waste it but provide it to strays that request it. Cats needlessly dying should be a past event. I am not a tree hugger but I do not put myself over my dog if he lives under my roof where as he expects me to provide his food in exchange for his company and intelligence.
