This is a great western spoof, available on DVD! Tom Berenger plays a squeaky-clean hero who is weary of the predictability of the bad guys.

This is the movie where he teaches the possie to shoot by having practice targets of guns in hands right? I haven't seen it in years! Thought it was called Cowboy's Rhapsody.

Western spoofs don't get any better than this! I have never met anyone who has heard of this movie and yet when they watch my DVD of Rustler's Rhapsody they all love it. For a one word line you can't beat Andy Griffith's henchman's response to "Throw another faggot on the fire". It's too bad so many people are missing out on this brilliant comedy.

I actually used to have a copy of this movie . It is in my opinion one of the funniest movies ever made , but seems to have faded into obscurity . I think this movie either came out the same year as Platoon or the year before and Tom probably wanted it to die a quiet death . Regardless it will always be one of my favorites .

You're right—it is one of the funniest! I've seen a lot of Tom Berenger's movies, and two of my favorites are Rustler's Rhapsody and Last of the Dogmen. (Of course Platoon is excellent too, but depressing.)
