In this lesson we are making a very basic renaissance/medieval style blouse. Check for my next lesson on how to make a simple gathered skirt.

  • what type of material did you use?

  • It was a thin cotton material that I picked up at Walmart. I tend to look for fabric that is soft and not too stiff when I make a blouse.

  • This blous would look beautiful with some emboidery on it. I'm going to try it. Thanks for the idea.

  • That would look nice. I wish I was better at embroidery. Good luck on the blouse.

    I love you.

  • Woo hoo... I just found this video in time!

I'm planning on making a shirt for myself (Male) and I think this gives me the basics on how to get started... though I still need to find out how to make a Mens Renaissance style shirt instead of a womens blouse, but I plan to use your "trace around the shirt" Idea because it just seems smart xD

  • We have a hula halau (school) that needs a simple way to do "missionary style" blouses. We have to do a lot of them so your video is so very much appreciated. Mahalo (Thank you in Hawaiian)

  • How do you cut the pattern to make the sleeves that shape where when you hold your arms up, it looks sort of like a triangular. I'm not sure how to describe what I'm talking about, but I'm sure you must know. what shape do you cut the sleeves to get that look? HELP!

  • thank u for posting these. they help a lot :)

  • nice blouse and great lesson. thx

  • lovely :)

  • If I wanted to make a cropped version of this blouse, would I just do the same thing I would have to do for the sleeves to the bottom?
