Explore World TV took a trip to Samui Island in Thailand to relax and take in some of the sights. This is what we found. View more travel pieces around the world at: http://ExploreWorldTV.com

Ko/Koh Samui is an island in the Gulf of Thailand, northeast of Surat Thani town, and is the third largest island of Thailand after Phucket being first and Koh Chang the second largest. Ko or Koh means island in Thai and the island is usually just referred to as Samui, and is one of the most sought after destinations for travelers coming to Thailand. Because of this the tropical island has becomed more developed to a tropical beach resort island but it still maintains its charm. There are many things to do on the island from relaxing on a cocnut beach filled beach to tropical jungles or vibrant nightlife. Accomdations on the island range from bungalows on the beach to five star hotels. Samui island activities can include elephant trekking, canoeing, sailing, diving, golfing, fishing, biking, and many more like visits to waterfalls, temples, the jungle, butterfly garden, aquarium, tiger zoo, monkey theater, snake and crocodile farm, and much more.

One of the resorts on Koh Samui is filmed in our piece: Coral Bay Resort. Coral Bay is designed for travelers in search of a relaxing and eco-friendly holiday experience. The peaceful natural environment of Coral Bay Resort minimizes the stress of todays urban lifestyle and offers a welcome alternative to the crowded concrete establishments that unfortunately are becoming all too prevalent on Koh Samui. Their 56 bungalows are set amid 10 acres of lush tropical gardens, ensuring an atmosphere of serenity and privacy. Surrounded by luxuriant coconut palms and flowering shrubs, the charming Samui-style dwellings built of wood and stone with traditional thatched roofs offer the highest standards of comfort.

You can learn more about Coral Bay Resort and Spa on their website at: http://www.coralbay.net
