Conrail Shared Assets Browns Yard Santa Train w/ a GREAT Horn!

Two ex Conrail GP40-2s, the lead unit with a great sounding Leslie RS3L horn, are the power for this years Santa Train. The train travels on ex Pennsy rails, out of Browns Yard, in Parlin, NJ. It takes the ex Pennsy Freehold Secondary all the way to Freehold, where the line ends today. Shot at - East Brunswick, Helmetta, Monroe, Tennant, Englishtown & Freehold, NJ - 12/12/09

@Southerntreatment - Yeah, they do it every year. Word is they are doing it this year on December 11. Train should be leaving Browns to head to Freehold around 9:30 AM

@trainfann1 - I'm not sure when it is this year. They usually have it in early December. I found the info on Railroad.net forum. I forget if it's under NJ Rails, or Conrail, but somebody will usually post the date there

the way that Leslie horn resonates from 1:30 - 1:37 is almost better than sex.........ok not really, but the horn sounds good. just sad i hadda work that saturday, been there for that event for the last 5 yrs, and was even lucky enough to ride along for the whole trip in 2006 (connections are good lol)

I would love to take that ride. That ex Pennsy trackage has seen better days though. That horn is AMAZING!!!!!

AWESOME Leslie. I wish I could have been there. At least they had a sunny day for it. Last year, NS (CR OLS scheme) 5290 was on here, which looked pretty sweet.
