Their huge US #1 hit. Originally the Buck Ram lyrics appeared in 1944, with music by the Three Suns (Morty Nevins, Al Nevins and Artie Dunn). Got to #3 in the UK
I recently found out that Tony williams had died Boy was i deeply hurt and schocked. i understand that Zola Taylor died two years ago. Their are other groups out there calling themselves the platters but as far as i am concerned they can never top the original platters in my book.
Always did love the platters from the time i was in my late teen when they were actually recording and performing their songs,
you're buggin! It was recorded and released here in the U.S. any masters pressed in other countries were 'copies' of the original masters and you can only lose sound quality from generation to generation, you can't improve it, although you can eq it badly and speed it up, as many canadian pressed records were, I don't know as much about English pressings but most sound ok despite being pressed on lower grade shellac (like Buddy Holly's songs, u don't want the English pressings, very noisy!)
You know, Cris Vangel has a mint copy of this recording--but i'll bet it can't compare to yours! Liz, your collection's the best of them all cause u got the british masters, and they're all so cool! Ty

One of my all time favorites. Fell in love with this song when I first heard it off of a reel to reel almost 20 years ago. Wow, I'm getting old lol

Thanks, that is some great old ear candy. The Wife and I have danced to that record many times after the kids had gone to bed.
