The Religion of Peace, Tolerance and Equality shows us how women are portrayed in the Koran.
If any one converts to Islam after seeing this, she DESERVES to live in an Islamic household. And any woman who remains muslim after seeing this is too brain-washed to notice Islam's harmful effects

  • women were treated the same 2000 years ago by all major religions not just islam. its not until the mid 1900s, that things for women began to change.

  • @jupiterscastle yeah, WERE treated, too bad that we are in 2011 and under Islam they ARE still treated like sub-human animals and all it is sanctioned in the qur'an.

  • @swiftGTi95 well I entirely disagree that Eve was made from Adam's rib. What nonsense. I don't beleive in Adam and Eve - there is no proof they existed. Evolution of humans explains things far better and far more logically. The fact all these religions says man came first and woman second makes it smell like it was written by a man. If a woman had written it she would have said women came first. Human nature ;-))

  • @Judipops13 I shall. Just give me some time lol, currently studying Human Biology 1A for Nursing, oh and plus, I have to look at everything you said and give you a solid and dignified answer.

    Please be patient.

    Peace.

  • @Judipops13 Eve being made from Adams rib - Yes.

Eve eating the fruit (Islam doesn't state what it was exactly, just a fruit) - No.

The Quran states that Iblis (Satan in English) came down to Adam, as he was jealous and angry that he had been kicked out of Heaven due to too much pride in himself and not bowing down to Adam.

This is a serious matter, but you need to understand that Islam had nothing to do with that. These stories arose from other nations PRIOR to Islam.

  • @swiftGTi95 you could answer in my channel - it is open to comments. Many people answer here so others can see responses. It is how we share information and is why I like the openess of Youtube commenting.

  • @swiftGTi95 It might make you laugh as a man - but the claims that woman was made from a man's rib as an afterthought as Adam was lonely and that she gave into temptation first and ate the apple kicking the whole of humanity into darkness has held a horrendous darkness over the view of women. You can laugh all you please but this is a very serious matter. It might not matter to you but these false claims have held women in second place for centuries my friend.

  • @Judipops13 They may seem rhetorical to you, however, to a real Muslim who actually understands the religion in a historical and logical sense, I can actually answer them. Hence, the answer would be long as you proposed more than one question.

    Like I said, just ask.

Also one thing that made me laugh was 'women being made "after" man'...Who cares who was made first lol, it doesn't make a difference. Humans need opposite sexes to reproduce...Regardless of who came first.

  • @swiftGTi95 The questions were mainly rhetorical. I have read the Quran intensely and many other religious texts. It is the word of God/Allah. As a woman I am offended by sections I read. Why should your answer be long? The text is clear on matters such as controlling ones wife, testimony as a female witness, instruction re: menstruation and sexual behaviour, my body being a field for my husband, woman being made "after" man so he could have a mate. This is inequality my friend.

  • @Judipops13 In order for me to answer these questions, I would have to inbox you...

Too long of an answer for comment section.

    Just ask.

    Peace.

    Jóhanna Sigurdardóttir (Iceland)

    Jadranka Kosor (Croatia)

    Mari Kiviniemi (Finland)

    Helle Thorning-Schmidt (Denmark)

Also there are endless female prime ministers in other non-Muslim countries outside of the West.

Please be careful when presenting information and not showing both sides to the coin.

TX's discussion was not about politics - which is a very different game to following a religious text in one's daily life.
