  • r u there

  • @dukeychs59 am I were my friend

  • So now we've come full circle... A rhetoric aside, I could be polemical about this new 'repentence" that I see being talked about, but I don't see any of it. What I see is a lot of complaining and pointing fingers, but who out there knows what it even means to "repent"?

Telling people they should stop sinning has the appearance of wisdom, but has done nothing in 2000 years to curb wickedness. This what habitual bad preaching of the law does.

  • walther - repent - to be remorseful for our transgressions and to stop doing them - even doing a 180 in our behavior... Im not sure what point you're trying to make - but I agree - telling people to stop sin without any accountability or leadership to back it up has done nothing to curb wickedness,

Where do you see habitual bad preaching of the law - btw?

  • 2 Tim 4:1-4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 (NASB) 18Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, 19namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, NOT counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
