Khao Sok Thailand wild elephants playing in the water. The video was shot on a PaddleAsia kayaking trip in Khao Sok National Park in Southern Thailand. There is also a Malayan Sun Bear in the video
@KrystyneY - these are the lucky ones. We see them all the time in Khao Sok. Over the last two years we've been seeing a lot of Gaur, sometimes in big herds.
The elephants who are captured and domesticated are abused severely. The ones that end up in elephant trekking camps have to go through what's called the 'phajaan' or 'crushing' ritual. Do a search on that to see what it's all about. Warning, it's not pleasant.
They are just so playful and calming. It's great to see them just being elephants
