Mao was a genuinely evil and highly corrupt dictator, of this there is no doubt, and to this day has created generations of otherwise great people who are full of hate for people (Americans, capitalists, etc), without even really understanding why. Like hating someone just for being black. Or white. Or whatever. But to you other people on here who are neither communist nor American attempting to incite further hate, what the hell is the matter with you? Not enough hate in the world already?
Mao is certainly the savior of of freedom human right and socialism in China and the fight against facist capitalism. Also is important to remember he is our inspiracion for many revolusions in Latinoamerica like in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela world capital of Maoism!!!! Long live glorios Chairman Mao memory!!! Long live Comander Chavez!!!
On the other hand, I think he needs to be held accountable for some very disasterous plans in China, such as Great Leap Forward and possibly Cultural Revolution.I know Mao was old and suffering from Parkinson's disease during CR,so I don't know how enfeebled he was and could thus be used. Other thoughts:I think any political leader that won't allow dissent and stern criticism, even ridicule of him/herself is absolutely wrong.Freedom means taking it on the chin sometimes and turning other cheek.
I think the question of Mao is very complex.I've heard both sides, from mainland Chinese and Han Chinese in Taiwan.I'm not Chinese, but I had a Chinese husband and I've listened to many discussions abt. Mao.I think the Chinese people, connected much better w/ Mao than Jiang.Jiang was really for business people, and was viewed as a sellout to West. I tend to agree, somewhat.I think he made too many compromises to West.
Mao was a great man, look at China before him a broken divided country full of uneducated peasants exploited by western powers and warlords.
Mao is no different to other leaders who achieved great things who could have united a country and built it up without difficulties.
Stalin said "One death is a tragedy a Million a statistic" numbers written on internet without real facts who can be sure of accurate population statistics, its exaggerated higher and higher by anti Communist propaganda.

好像老霉比中国人还了解那段历史啊。不过还轮不到老霉来教训中国,先自己照照镜子吧。
