Over a hundred employees and volunteers worked for thousands of hours on City of Hope's float for the 2012 Rose Parade on Jan. 2, 2012.
Aptly named "The Power of Hope," the float was designed to recognize the hope found in City of Hope's patients and their families as well as physicians and staff. Hope strengthens all in the fight against cancer and other diseases. The float featured images known by many who seek treatment and visit City of Hope. These include the Spirit of Life fountain, Golter Gate and pictographs showing patients, staff and donors. To represent City of Hope's medical research on cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases, "strands" of DNA were located on the front and back of the float. Eight City of Hope pediatric patients, a nurse and a physician/researcher rode the float.
A big THANK YOU to our generous sponsors who made this year's float possible: Angelica Corporation, Berg Electric, DPR Construction, Image 2000, Layton Construction, Perkins + Will, and Sodexo.
