On December 16th, 2010 -- the eve of National Remembrance Day for those who have lost their lives due to violence and whose date or place of death may not be remembered -- Queer Rising will be holding a healing community building event called "In God's Name: Hate is the Abomination".
Jews and non-Jews alike will gather to remember those whose lives who have been lost due to anti-LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) violence. Jews of all denominations will stand together in solidarity and make known that hateful anti-LGBTQ rhetoric is contrary to Jewish values.
On this evening, we will all recite together the Jewish Mourner's Kaddish. This video is a tutorial so everybody can learn the Mourner's Kaddish and recite it together on 12.16.10 - as a large, diverse community highlighting the commonalities and intersections of the Jewish and queer communities.
