Building Deadmau5 In Google Sketch-Up

In this weeks video I construct the Deadmau5!... well not exactly, but I do construct his mouse head that he wears at live sets and other shows. This is the first model that I have ever made for export that has both round/spheric shapes in and has external components in (pre-made components that I have not made) The head was fairly simple I just added a horzontal line half way down the sphere and arched it at the bottom, I then created the teeth section by making the lips and adding a flat 'wall' to it. I then added the eyes which are just 2 reduced sized spheres that are added level to the main sphere. I finally added the ears which was the most hardest bit of it all, it was not the making of the ears as that just involved drawing a circle pushing it up to make a 3D shape and rounding off the edges, with the softening tool, it was the adding the ears to the head, after a lond period of trail and error, I finally got them on. Once a fortnight (2 weeks) Lewis will construct a model of a popular item of society using a program called Google Sketch-Up, this is a software package that Lewis has been using for severeal years and has used to design the simple things like a shape to the most difficult of models including kitchens, bathrooms and actual theatre sets, in each video you will see the start to end process, provided with a suitable text based commentary explaining how the design was made, how long it took and where you can download this actual model free of charge, thats right, every model made using the software is shared to the world via the 3D Warehouse
