Perfect weather attracted 100,000 spectators to the 2010 Staten Island St. Patricks Day Parade. Borough President James P. Molinaro rolled down Forest Ave. and was joined by Joan Cusack, Commissioner of the New York State Crime Victims Board.
The Borough President said, In this time of fiscal constraint, I couldnt be more pleased that my office is still able to help support this important community event. The St. Patricks Day Parade is one of our Boroughs most popular traditions. I want to commend the organizers of the parade for their extraordinary efforts year after year.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg and other elected officials also participated in the festivities. This years Grand Marshal was Joan Barry Hughes, only the second female to serve in that capacity in the parades history.
