why would you think the possessive not the plural of history would be used? there is nothing in the lyrics to suggest histories in that case is possessive "Oh, but now the history's all been erased" there is no possession in that sentence as their is nothing to possess it and history's isn't a contraction for history has, which would make sense in a way but history is all been erased would be crazy. Genuinely curious as to why you think as you do though
