@deborahjoshuajustin I suggest you to read the sermon on the mount.I'm not a great fan of emerging movement, but this video doesn't hurt Scripture at all.

@deborahjoshuajustin 2:00 easily gives away that he isn't a true Christian. Jesus did NOT say that you should be friends with everybody and that NOBODY is your enemy! When Jesus was saying this, He was saying that as believers WE should lead others to Himself - NOT ignore people's bad behavior and agree with THEIR lifestyle!!!
-
What is he trying to say @ 2:00? That we should make murderers, rapists, and people like that our FRIENDS?????? LOL - Screwed up theology to the max. ONE WORLD RELIGION supporter, right there....... LOL

his understanding of the kingdom of God is a panentheistic understanding of the kingdom. Because of this, he can't distinguish the difference between the earthly kingdom and heavenly kingdom. His ideas are also pegalian. The kingdom is all GOd's work rather than man's work. Also, within the new heaven and hew earth, there will be hierarchy not the abstract notion of equality that many of the emerging church have adopted. John Calvin and CS Lewis states that noone will be equal in heaven

Jesus reigns in the hearts of all believers, God has written his laws in the hearts and minds of all believers. When you get baptized into Christ you become a new man, a new creation in Christ. Your old man is put of, and you put on Christ. You no longer live according to this world of the flesh, but you live in the spirit. The holy spirit is your only teacher, and it is he that makes you want to do the will of your father in heaven. The Kingdom of God is not a earthly kingdom.

Gods Kingdom is not of this world, its a heavenly kingdom where Jesus sits and reigns now. Christians belong to the Isreal from above, the heavenly Isreal. Where there is no temple, because the temple is the body of believers, its a spiritual temple been built up in the likeness of Christ. Each believer is a royal preist and a liiving stone. Real Christians put no faith in the creation (the earth) but the creator. Christians are the "called out ones" who's lives are hid with Christ.

I believe our struggle for Kingdom of God and His justice ((Mt 6, 33) begins here on Earth as well - through our change of heart, cleansing of mind and repentance with God´s power, inspiration and our free will we can then ask, and we will be given; seek, and we will find; knock, and it will be open unto us (Mt 7, 7). Let the change (turn) happen, succumb to His will, accept and use His gifts accordingly and be vigilant for His return to fulfil and rule the Kingdom in full glory and justice.

@Lengarces Clearly? Explain please.

Beware, this guy is clearly a wolf in sheep's clothing.

@originaltbyrd you could probably say the same thing about Jesus... I read *some* or his teachings and man... he had a lot of things wrong. Blessed are the poor in spirit? What an idiot. The poor in spirit aren't blessed! Those who mourn... they lose. That's not how the world works. He obviously has no clue. Flee his deceitful teachings!
Or... maybe McLaren is right, at least some of the time, about the teachings of Jesus... He really DOES want us to work with him and bring heaven to now
bravo friend- you are correct! the KINGDOM OF GOD- IS JESUS GOSPEL about the Kingdom to come "HERE ON EARTH" with JESUS as the KING! for now satan is the GOD of this world (earth) but will be removed soon! AWESOME-
