Svenoćno bdenje (Op. 37, 1915.), deo-Biser pravoslavne duhovne muzike.

  • The rendition is indeed beautiful, but I must say there is something missing.

  • @marahbadrian Thnx,... but what is missing?

  • @neolith008 Jeste Krsmanac,... :-)

  • wow... the bass section made this possibly the best recording I've ever heard of this. Only problem was the coughing at the end, but that can not be helped of course with a live performance. This was lovely!!

  • @hugheyhudson Agree,... thnx for your comment!! :-)

  • Nothing is missing. This is one of the most beautiful versions of this hymn that I have heard. Russian Orthodox Church music cries to God. Other versions of this song I have heard on youtube, and they are very beautiful, but they strike me as a bit academic. This is from the heart--which is what Orthodox Church music is: from the heart, its signature, and what makes it so powerful.

  • Wait is that a low Octave F i hear at the end? And the C sounds an octave lower too.

  • in G major?

  • @CleanBeats94

    it is performed by

Academic choir Obilic - Artistic association of the university of Belgrade - Branko Krsmanovic, Belgrade, Serbia

    :)

  • @fromheretoglory For me it swoops around all over the place and the dynamics are contrived to say the least. It lacks weight and solidity. It needs far more control and the grounding of some heavy weight basses. Listen to the St Petersburg choir doing this. They understand that power underused is the best way of leaving us with the impression of how easy their performance is. It is divine music and not for earthly voices. St Petersburg choir everytime.

  • Nice low C in the basses at the end! It's not written but definitely audible! =P

  • @marahbadrian there is nothing missing m8 i sang this on sunday
