In 2010, RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Bike Ride Across Iowa) passed through Dyersville, home of the Grotto of the redemption. A Jesuit priest back in the 1920's got pneumonia and prayed to Mother Mary that if she interceded for him, he would build something great to give thanks. This is the result. And this is one of two such structures in Iowa built by this guy. Devotion or fear can produce some pretty incredible works.
