Maybe this is stupid.. but I have an idea.. How about you stop letting people know in advance when health inspectors or the like are gonna show up in these factories and food establishments? I'm no rocket scientist but isn't that the best way to keep people honest?

You want to help food safety? Don't harmonize our food regulations with the UN's Codex Alimentarius.

Nutrients are not toxins.

Vitamins and minerals are food, not drugs.

Keep harmful pesticides and chemicals off of our food.

ALWAYS allow labeling of organic food.

Stop Monsanto from contaminating the worlds food supply with GM food.

If you are really concerned about food safety then why does the government allow Corporate Agribusiness to inundate the American people with known harmful chemicals additives and preservatives, known carcinogens, artificial hormones, antibiotics that cause resistant strains of bacteria and modified sweeteners that are known causative agents of diabetes and obesity and harass small farmers that have been bringing high quality food to Americas table since the first Thanksgiving?

If you bureaucrats want to do something to better the food safety hold large agribusiness more accountable, leave small farms to the states, GET RID OF GMO, and lose the Senate bill S. 510. The blanket legislation contained in that bill is set up to kill small farms and will only benefit folks like Monsanto.

Vilsack should change his policy regarding Monsanto and GMO, or resign. Ban/label/boycott ALL unsafe, untested, genetically modified "frankenfood".

Please ban/increase mandatory labeling details for ALL GMO food already.
