Recorded in late 1956, released in 1957, this album was found last week at Goodwill in Boynton Beach, Florida. I've never heard of Les Baxter before, but picked this album up based on enjoying "Bongos" & "Bongos, Flute, Guitars", on 'Command Records' a few weeks prior. After two complete back-to-back plays, this album jumped straight to the top of my "Full LP" upload list, as I found the album to be a very interesting listen, with none of the tracks letting me down. After hearing this album, you can be assured I will be grabbing more Les Baxter albums when I come across them.
I was lucky enough to find this album in amazing shape for it age. Generally you always know a record is in good shape and well cared for when it's stored in the sleeve, with the sleeve being stored in the jacket upright to minimize dust and contaminants from contacting the vinyl. Lucky that is the way I found this album. I am also amazed by the fidelity of a recording from 1956, pressed on 54 year old vinyl!
For all my Full LP uploads, I use software to eliminate clicks/pops, and reduce surface noise to give you a taste of what the album could sound like if I had a more intensive/expensive vinyl cleaning regiment. You can hear the clicks/pops fade out just before the first track @ 0:36.
Until now, I have not been able to easily find any of these songs uploaded to the internet, longer than 30 second sample clips. So please sit back and enjoy this album in uninterrupted full length with all linear notes, as I have.

Recording Notes:
Vinyl was washed in a 'Spin Clean Record Washer System' and treated with 'Gruv Glide'. Recorded from an Audio Technica AT-LP120usb turntable/Audio Technica AT-440Mla cartridge, into the phono input of a Harman/Kardon 330c receiver, and finally into an Onkyo Wavio SE-U33GXV USB Digital Audio processor. Recorded from my laptop using Audacity @ 24bit/48,000 Hz.
Exported from Sony Vegas in MP4 format with the following settings:
Audio: 320kbps, 48,000 Hz, 24 Bit, Stereo
Video: 29.970 fps, 1440x1080 Progressive, 12 Mbps
Youtube knocks the audio down from the above, to 128kbps.
I bought this album in High School in 1957

@The1970sInfatuate why yes it does. are you looking to get into vinyl?
gilmour509 9 months ago
@gilmour509 Yeah, I am. I was just trying to find the best way to clean records without having to buy expensive cleaning fluids etc.

@The1970sInfatuate i dry brush cleaning alone will not be enough to really get down in the grooves, but it is better than nothing. i give a wet cleaning first using my "spin clean record washer". i fill mine with hot filtered tap water. i'm going to eventually build my own record cleaning machine for getting deep down in the grooves with a "nitty gritty" brush, and make my own cleaner
there are tutorials out there showing how to make your own RCM, and be able to vacuum clean the vinyl. Evan
