Because of the artist's essence and message is clearly communicated. The 'object' is a symbol, just as much as the artist himself is a symbol. If art is to speak for itself, then no 'artist' should speak about their art. The problem then is, the artist's way of creating a cult of personality which entices collectors. The Two Frida's is one of my favorite art pieces. It drew my attention to the artist. It was her personal ideologies about 'Art' that would cause me to collect her work.

I've not stated that 'Everyone is an artist', that is a misrepresentation of my ideas.  The Picasso quote, is to convey that spirit of what art conveys. The essence of the artist, vs. art supplies, technique and application. Art is not just technique and use of art supplies. The 'ritual object' of what is produced is the artist's essence portrayed through various mediums. The 'art' then, is the person creating the object not the object sold for retail. The art is given deeper meaning...
