true true, ive read everything i can get my hands on about stevie and it is true that he wished he was black when he was younger, because he said black musicians had more soul, but regardless of color or gender, nobody had more soul than stevie, and now his soul is with God....i hope there are guitars in heaven

August 1990 I was deployed to the persian gulf when I heard the tragic and very sad news of his death. Just a couple months prior I was fortunate enough to see Stevie Ray at the B&H blues festival in California,I will never forget how incredible it was to have seen him perform live, amazing. RIP SRV

Life by the drop was written by Stevie's friend Doyle Bramhall who also just recently passed away. They are both in heaven now. RIP
-
@sonofagunn22 That's absolutely amazing that you were able to see him 4 times in the short time we had him, I would do anything to have seen him jam!

Love that man on guitar.Soul, soul, soul !!! Saw him 4 times in Philly.1st time blew my mind like nothin else. And every show after was in anticipation of greatness, which was guaranteed.I remember being at work and hearing Clapton died.I was shocked & saddened, then found out it wasn't Clapton, but his manager and finally....Stevie.I was crushed. All F#@kin day I couldn't get it outta my head.He had just really taken off to mainstream stardom. What a huge loss.I'll never forget SRV.The sky is cryin'

@cansecoisgod I can't imagine why he isn't either. When I did research for the video I was astonished that he wasn't.

@srv665 The reggae at the beginning is part of Stevie's beginnings, that was his first serious band.

@Ryderisking He died right as his music was starting to get really big and hit a larger audience, it's so sad. He could have made so much more amazing music.
