It's not even the case that it's up to parents to censor the world from their children for a set amount of time; I almost feel saying, "So what? Who the fuck really cares?" I was raised by ULTRA conservative Christian parents, not only did their futile attempts at censorship of real life fail miserably, they made me more curious. Parents? Trust me, your kids KNOW more than they let on, half the time they're probably censoring the truth for your sakes.

I play violent video games in my free time, I'm a prductive member of society and I have access to guns. I've never thought of shooting anyone, ever.
Have you ever watched the movie "The ruins"? That movie is 10 times more graphic than any video game I've ever played. Ratings are set in place for a reason, It's up to the parents if the child plays the game or not.
Using a joypad does not equate to shooting a real firearm, simulator my ass!
