A quantifiers tutorial all about much, many and a lot of from http://englishbox.com which includes loads of other quantifiers such as plenty, bundles, tons, jillions, hordes to help increase your English vocabulary and show off to your friends with your English skills! 'Much' is used with uncountable nouns and 'many' is used with countable nouns. However, 'a lot of' and other quantifiers such as 'loads of' can be used with both countable and uncountable nouns.

  • Great video! Thanks. Americans say "a pile of" and "a bunch of" as well. There are a few others I'm sure.

  • @MadridTeacher Thanks! I probably should have inserted those instead of 'oodles of' and 'jillions of' - a fair bit more common! The idea that I may be sitting in a class and one of the students pipes up with 'There were oodles of people at the party last night' was too good not to act upon. Anyway, I'll try and engineer it so your comment remains at the top and easily visible to the students. Thanks again for your continued support.
