This course is not from God:

1 Tim 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Read the Bible:

John 14:15 If ye love me keep my commandments [16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

God gives us his spirit when we walk with him in obedience.

how do those scriptures prove the alpha course and/or this advert, is not from God??

they ask the question is secular life satifying and then offer to answer Questions on God & Christianity.

yes some will depart form the faith but people cant depart form something if they've have never been there. how will they believe if no one tells them, if they've never heard.

The alpha course is about getting to know a relevant, true and living God in a world that omits Him.

They don't but the Alpha course teaches the speaking of babbling, calling it the gift of tongues and relating it to the Holy spirit.

The gift of tongues is the ability to spread the gospel to the world through the use of different languages, not a confusing babble that no one can understand, not even the person muttering it.

1 Cor 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

If you want scripture, I would be happy to oblige.

okay, now we've moved onto a different arguement. i didnt know you objected to the Alpha course because of its interpretation of the gift of toungues, i thought you objected to it wholistically - its ethos or execution.

What'd i'd like you to do then please is message me with scripture as i need to bed right now lol. i see we disagree on this matter but we are blessed when we can unite around the Gospel.

Forgot one more... Jews don't believe Jesus is the Messiah. Do Jews all go to hell along with everyone elese who picked the wrong religion?

Also--- why is there no mention of hell until gentle Jesus come along. Where is it never mentioned in the OT? Any takers?

we obviosly dont know the scriptures if you say the church has no hierarchy all chures d even though it might be siplfied or complex and it is scriptural to be such, also might i ad God can take something meant for evil and use it for his glory

I am a member of Holy Trinity Brompton, where NIcky GUmbels preaches. I can tell you quite honestly that behind the scenes the knives are out. They are such control freaks. People who disagree are punished by being excluded from all social events, and can even be surrounded by bullies and physically removed.

The real church does not have hierarchy - there is no abuse of power - as there is at HTB

Alpha is run by volunteers many of whom have not the slightest theological training or background. It claims to encourage exploration whilst giving one the preordained answers. Alpha offers nothing to multi-faith dialogue, it is homophobic at its core just read 'searching Issues' written by the 'Alpha' founder Nicky Gumbel.

The language: illogical and beyond all sense-experience; do they not know Copernicus and Galileo removed the theistic deity from the heavens some 400 years ago?

all the threats of the old testement were getting tedious, So I guess as people start to wise up you need to invent bigger fears, after all thats what religion is, bleieve our religion or else.!
