I have to agree that most of the covers in Across the Universe weren't to my liking, but i still have an appreciation for the movie. It brought a whole new light to the talent of The Beatles. Not to mention how well the songs were blended into the unfolding story, of love, war, and the Peace movement of the late 60's.

The two "Across the Universe" film covers that I enjoy are 'Across the Universe' itself and 'I've Just Seen a Face'.

"...making love to only you", when "making love" meant "hold me tight".Wasn't it great that kids back then had so many more layers to go before they got down to the dirty deed? I was only four so I can't relate. Holding hands and kissing...we may laugh about the innocence (and maybe even some hypocrisy) of 1964...but it seems the joke mostly is on us. Listening to this song imagining the formality in place in 1964 (whether it was always followed or not), gives it such a happy feeling!

People call it a Beatle movie,but I don't. If you wanna see a TRUE Beatle movie then go see A Hard Day's Night or Help. All the covers suck too.
