@chicanul you are fortunate to see the difference between the thinking and you. Without someone to guide you it is almost impossible to get there because the one looking is always the THINKING. The thinking has a protection mechanism that prevents its discovery. It is the one looking so it only finds what it is comfortable with ... and of course it is never comfortable with its own destruction. This is the reason why the "jewel" of enlightened living is so elusive. Yet people hunger for it.

Yes, the internal commentator inside our heads would like us to follow it around, be dragged along by it, and keep us "tied in" by subjecting us to its emotions, and we don't have to do that. There was a point in my life where I thought there was no way out of the damaging thought patterns that I had.

@chicanul few people realize that they are not their thoughts, so they follow their thoughts around blindly and miss out on living. Live Now guides one to see the difference between the real person and the thoughts (personality). The person then has a choice about living in reality or living the dream.

Al is very clear in what he is saying when the viewer already has experience with Live Now. In these 4 videos Al gives an excellent introduction to Live Now and the freedom to succeed. This is an opportunity for someone without previous experience with Live Now to find something of value in what Al is saying. It could be life a changing experience for them.
The human race is on track to destroy itself, it just seems so strange that we cannot as a race "get our program together". We have intelligence, creativity, and so on, and we kill each other and get over on each other and it just makes no sense at all.
Maybe free will is a curse. We're gonna run out of oil, water, wood, food, it just is so so sad....

@chicanul It is possible we'll destroy ourselves and have to start over again in the distant future if given another chance. We contain the solution. It is our essence. We seem to be getting further and further away from that essence as the years pass. Free will is simply the choice we have to live life as the spiritual beings we were born to be or to continue play God and live through thought.

@chicanul All mans actions is based on thought. That is what Al Mejia is saying, The voice in our head is saying, do this-do that. It is this internal dialog that rules us. Look around you, everything you see and hear in mans world is a product if internal dialog. This streaming of thoughts that goes on all our heads is the Matrix. When our internal dialog falls away the matrix falls, then you can see what is real and what is illusion. Man is hung up in illusion.

I believe that we look up at figures like Buddha, Christ, and Mohammed, the prophets and so on, as such "enlightened" figures that are above and beyond what we can ever be, like we are so lowly and unworthy. But the majority of these important figures often taught that the "inner self" is just waiting to be discoverd and is within our reach, for example, "The kingdom of heaven is within you."

@chicanul Yes, heaven is within us. The masters teach that. It is a simple concept, but so many people miss the target. They try to get there through their thinking; not realizing that it is the THINKING itself that blocks their experience of heaven. Heaven is only attainable through nonthinking means.
