In the fashion film Toxicity I want to illustrate the idea of conformity v. non conformity utilizing a gas mask. The gas mask evokes a feeling of fear and tends to make people feel uncomfortable. The sense of discomfort is the overall goal and essence of the film. I pull inspiration for this film from the Bible book of Revelation as well as findings in relation to the holocaust. Toxicity is a collection of moving images illustrating the body moving in spontaneous, rhythmic, and organic motions. Each image sequence builds on the preceding image sequence, ultimately creating the idea of a struggle between the individual and an unknown entity, or the wearer of the gas mask. The audio featured includes loud shrieks, screams, and squeals all set to high pitched piano notes and a hip hop beat, over sounds inspired by ancient Turkish music. Although these sounds bare little to no relation, they do aid in making the viewer uncomfortable. Toxicity is the digital prelude to The Haus of Chr'Jor's third collaboration, Selbstmord, set to release winter 2011.
