The gear I use to catch channel catfish

Me showing the gear I use to catch channel cat. Every place you fish is different, but this setup works well for me where I have been doing most of my fishing.
1/2 ounce bullet sinker
2/0 Eagle Claw baitholder
small splitshot (size doesn't really matter)
2" bobber
I fish right near the face of a dam, so the fish move up into the shallow waters and up to the top of the water the closer nightfall gets. I've used this setup all spring/summer and caught nearly 400 catfish.

@hybridspartan44 fresh cut bait>>sucker-carp-bluegill... or chicken liver sacks... or live chubs... pretty much whatever you can think of lol

@ambersteven69 where I'm at, there aren't that big of cat. if i was using a 5-7 ot hook people would ask me if I was frickin shark fishing. I have a much nicer abu garcia setup that I use when I go places where there are bigger cat.

If you don't mined I'ed like to try your set up there? Nice vid very helpful. Cat are my favorite fish to catch. What kind of bait do you use???

Yeah, go for it! I used anything from cut bait(suckers and carp) to live chubs to live bluegill, haven't tried any of the dough yet this year. Good luck, let me know how you do!

works the same with braid? how's that stren btw?

The best bait for alot of catfish is Chicken livers. But the best for big cats is cutbait

@willfred8706 thanks... lol i went catfishin 2 days ago and caught nuthin. we used cut up shiners and some dough bait i homemade.... tuna,syrup,penut butter,ground frosted miny wheats, flour, and some cotton.... im not sure if it was the bait of where i was

@willfred8706 you must not catch them big, no offence, but i am using oz. egg or no roll sinkers, in a santee rig or a 3 way rig, with a 5-7 ought kale or circle, somtimes a sickle... tght lines.. also the geats on those shakespears suck, get you a quatium reel and a white ugly stick 8 foot cat rod.. unless you just have or want little cats
