  • Her first starring role. Talk about coming out of the chute in style.

  • I know this is irrelevant but I loved it when Rooney cut Taylor's hair off. It made he look so grown up with that pixie.

  • @Amimi150 no she does :) right at the end and thats how they find out she's a girl

  • Ok I haven't seen this movie in forever. But if I'm thinking correctly, does she pass out right at the end of the race or am I thinking of something else entirely?

  • oh my god i love this movie, used to watch it all the time when i was younger.. am waiting for it to arrive from amazon i cannot waiiiiiiiiiit!!!!! love elizabeth taylor! RIP.

  • I just saw this movie the other day on TCM, no wonder she had a long lasting movie career, not only was she beautiful, she was a talented child and adult actress and her movies will live on. National Velvet is one of my fave Elizabeth Taylor movies next to A Place In The Sun and Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf.

  • She didnt even have a stunt double, which makes this movie AMAZING!

  • R.I.P Elizabeth Taylor

  • I still can't believe that Miss Taylor is gone! R.I.P.
