@fishinfobass88 I prefer a 9wt weight rod although an 8wt would work! Most people are fishing 8wt-10wt but for me personally I prefer the 9wt!

@MsCormanios you really need a bigger rod......... most of the flies we fish for pike are large and as such require a rod in the 8wt to 10wt size! We do most of our fishing wih floating lines but I also carry a sink tip line with me at all times as well!

@walshibleys .... My favorites include the Gen X Bunny, flashtail Whistler, Skoks Mushmouth, and for top water....... Umpqua Pike Fly!

Dear Barry, i have watched your vid over and over again, and it gives me the shivers. I think its the best vidido at the market to day concenrning flyfishing for northern pike. What a monsters. I have to stay here in Holland and catch my pike here becouse i do not fly in a airplaine. Barry you are to modest in your answer for favorite flies. The Reynold's Pike Fly I have said for years is the best Pike fly ever invented. It works so well I don't think color even matters. The motion is one no self respecting Pike can pass up.

do you use any wire leader or anything because when i first fished pike i didnt use any wire leader and every time it got bitten off.
