Here, I'm playing my guitar through my Tesla Coil. The guitar signal is basically run through a comparator, turning it into a square wave (just like a simple fuzz effect, which is why that's what it sounds like). This is the enable signal for the driver. When it's off, no drive at all, when it's on, it drives it at it's resonant frequency (~150kHz).

The second part of the video is with the ground wire moved farther away. The frequency is clearly audible as clicks (~10Hz). The duty cycle is very low, so the power can be turned up without heating up the transistors too much. When the power is turned up to maximum (~370 volts), the arcs go from purple to orange. Given the spark length, I estimate the voltage to be around 100kV.
