@castlestassy If you listen to the original, Jay does it in a "breathy" purposely. Plus, I've done this karaoke with a friend of mine who can really sing and if you don't find a way to imitate the breathiness you can never get a breath in! Just sayin'. : )

I'm looking around at some rap covers tonight, this was the first I saw. Perfect effect on the guitar and the playing was fine. The timing on the vocals was tight and I liked the Jay Z part but it was a bit 'breathy' - know what I mean. If I'm not mistaken, rapping is a little more from the throat - but really pretty good. The Alicia part - that's hard to do. You didn't nail it but you didn't destroy it - nice work - do more - hope I was helpful.
