I own nothing. (spoiler/info below)
Paul Roma was asked to help make WCW newcomer "Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright look good at SuperBrawl V, a WCW Pay-Per-View event. Roma dominated Wright for most of the match, yet Wright was able to score the upset win via pinfall at the end of the match.
Roma was fired from WCW shortly afterwards, and there have been various rumors circulating around the internet as to the cause of the termination. One rumor suggests that Roma was fired for being too rough on Alex; a rumor that Wright himself has denied in an interview. (Wikipedia)
My grandma has better legs than Alex Wright.

this really is a classic for all the obvious politicking that goes on in wrestling. Roma was a very impressive wrestler if only he had been allowed to do what he was good at and that was beating up oiks like Wright. Wright has a wrestling school in Germany now and his married. Roma was a god and I loved watching him.

Roma didn't suck. He was a total dick but his matches weren't terrible by any means. Pretty Wonderful was an awesome tag team.

@knicks1616 It was Flair. Flair was pushing Wright. I don't know why. He used to botch the hell out of every match, he looked bad, he was shit on the mic. There were several wrestlers who didn't want to sell to him. Jim Duggan did it when Wright was wrestling under the Berlyn gimmick. Duggan actually did not sell in a much more obvious way and guess what? He was not fired. Why? Because Flair could do shit nothing at that time.

Ever get the feeling that Heenan is having a bad night? Just seems like he's not "trying" and reeling off some generic color commentary.
I think Heenan was in on Paul Roma underselling Wright's moves and trying to stop him getting the push he was meant to have.
