At Detroit's Comerica Park, Baseball Hall of Fame (1981) broadcaster Ernie Harwell gives a farewell speech to fans roughly a week after being diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous tumor of the bile duct. Harwell is a legend and icon in the minds of many Detroiter's, myself included. This video is taken from the right field bleachers. I'm fortunate enough to have met Harwell on two separate occassions. He was as nice and kind to me in my brief opportunities to meet him as his reputation dictated. It is fortunate that the Tigers have a chance to honor him while he is still alive. Thank you Ernie.
@jdawgisback - Well it was a powerful air.
