Absolutely one of the best. Gone too soon; his love of sports cars all too prophetic. His horn concerti still resonate movingly 55 years after he departed.

Thank you:)

@donhille1 Dale Clevenger, Barry Tuckwell...all are (were) fine Mozart horn players as well. Tuckwell's Mozart recordings are wonderful. The tradgedy of Dennis, of course, was his untimely and sudden death in a car accident, which I think adds more to his legend because many of us wonder..'what could have been'.

Dennis Brain....an inspiration 45 years ago when I was just starting French Horn, and again, as I have taken up the Horn on retiring. I've heard many recordings of Mozart, but nothing ever seems to equil Dennis Brain.

This recording justifies the description "heavenly".....Brain has never been equalled, nor surpassed.

I learned to play from his LPs and my scales

Even after all these years, it is still the greatest recording of this work.
