You're right. It isn't correct. I am a huge U2 fan so I know what it should really sound like. I couldn't find the right chord so chose to do different tune altogether at that bit :)

Hewson takes words to a higher resolution than most, especially in that song. He sculpts each one as if it were an entire sentence. I suggest for you, (you already demonstrate the capability) that you train your enunciation and particularly your phonetic dimensionalization of your words during your most emotionally energetic times, study your own extremes.
