In an interview filmed during the June 2011 international conference, COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTRES: ACTING TODAY, SHAPING TOMORROW, Ontario Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, the Honourable Deb Matthews, described the expanding role of Community Health Centres in Ontario. Minister Matthews also underscored steps that communities and CHCs across Ontario need to take in order to make sure that all Ontarians eventually have access to a CHC when it is needed. The international conference was co-sponsored by the Association of Ontario Health Centres, the Canadian Alliance of Community Health Centre Associations and the US National Association of Community Health Centers. It ran June 9 and 10, 2011 at the Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto, Canada.

Workshop and plenary speakers from across Canada, the United States and around the world shared the latest on how Community Health Centres can improve population health and strengthen the sustainability of health care systems.
