Souad Massi was born in 1972 in Algiers the capital of Algeria. She also grew up in Algiers. She studied guitar in a school in Algeria and started her carrier in the group Triana D’Alger. Her first performances were all in Algeria. He first work was in the form of tape (not a CD ) was also produced in Algeria. It was a very successful work (country style).
