On March 29th, 2011 six members of Fort Campbell's 101st Airborne Division were killed in combat with the enemy. Also 1 Afghan National Soldier was also killed.

The Department of Defense announced today the deaths 6 soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. They died March 29 of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with small arms fire in Konar province, Afghanistan. Killed were:

Staff Sgt. Bryan A. Burgess, 29, of Cleburne, Texas.

Pfc. Dustin J. Feldhaus, 20, of Glendale, Ariz.

Sgt. 1st Class Ofren Arrechaga, 28, of Hialeah, Fla.;

Staff Sgt. Frank E. Adamski III, 26, of Moosup, Conn.; and

Spc. Jameson L. Lindskog, 23, of Pleasanton, Calif.

Pvt. Jeremy P. Faulkner, 23, of Griffin, Ga They were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.

  • We need to be using our air power more. Bomb the shit out of their positions. That's what we have it for. They keep sending our brave soldiers on patrols, with no real support around them, who aren't allowed to fire at until fired upon. The politicians and higher ups are leading like it's a game and wasting our troops lives. RIP guys, true heroes.

  • tryithere...i agree with the political side and the rules of engagement bull....but trust me they have air support, i just got back from Afghanistan recently with the 101st and there are few to no missions that go without coverage from the sky. It's a shame to lose anyone but It's what we signed up for...that's also why I'm in aviation and not on patrols. I tip my hat to those guys.
