  • thats not a broad sword its a saber

  • @evilgizmo21 a western broadsword and a chinese broadsword are different, if you look up "broadsword" with kung fu anywhere on youtube you will see this weapon and not the one you're thinking of. there's a tai chi broadsword that looks different from both of these too!

  • by the way that is Sifu Frank Allen's head we see judgeing the form..lol, he is a Northern Wu style tai chi and bagua Master

  • thanks for the form history! and yeah i remember his student doing bagua there. i think her name was tina cheng? i had a small clip of her performing too.

  • Who is this lady? She's from Yang Cheng Fu ligneage or from Yang Jwing Ming's family?

  • i think she is yang daughter. she was definatley from his school. not sure who she is though!

lol, ok, mr evil gizmo, i'll practice my tai chi straight sword with your advice in mind, and see how quickly my teacher throws my ass out of class- what you say is generally correct, but u should study up on chinese martial arts (particularly tai chi style). vikings were known to be rather crude warriors in battle, fierce, and tough, but sometimes crude. the tai chi sword has so many refinements and subtleties, and focuses on control w/ many advanced technique/ concepts.

  • i like how this form starts and ends in the same way

  • perhapes you might be right - however i study wepons primarly swords and knifes. Broad swords are strait and often used with stabbing motions, more often than not, but not always, both edges are sharp. (such as the Vikings sword) Sabers are curved and have only one sharp edge. they are used with primary slashing motions.which is what she has and the sword does curve at least half way. what people post on You tube is not always correct, i get my information from history book and proffesors.....

  • Simply outstanding!!!!

  • I love this form. My Sifu learned from Dr Yang and I am competing this month with the full version of this form. This one is a little condensed. Still awesome though !
