@Klavikal Well basically in the beginning he's talking about some training methods etc, which he uses. Short version would be something like this: He just pushes the tempo for a long time and tries to get the notes even and clear. You should be able to hear every note even when playing without mics or triggers. When using mics etc. it helps when you "drive" the bass drums to your ears 'cause they are the only drums which are positioned away from the drummer himself. This was the first 3 min :)
