Playa Del Carmen Mexico

Playa Del Carmen Mexico is one of my favourite destinations, I have always felt safe and have enjoyed all that this area offers. But recent stories in the media about escalating crime with drug cartels in Cancun including shootings in broad day light have me wondering what the future holds for this area. Tourism which is a vital part of the economy could be devastated if crime and corruption are let to run rampant.

DONT WORRY FOR WHT YOU HEAR ON THE MEDIA..IM MEXICAN & LET ME TELL YOU THIS: the crime is a reallity, but is happening only with people involved in drug traffic, so if you are not dealinf with drugs you dont have to be scared, DRUG CARTELS NEVER MESS WITH CIVILIANS! AND THEY OPERATE MOSTLY IN BORDER CITYES SUCH CIUDAD JUARES OR MATAMOROS, VEVER GO TO THOSE CITIES,.....REST OF MEXICO IS STILL PEACEFULL AND SAFE ;)

People! please don't let television and news fool you! of course we have some crime in Mexico and there are some dangerous places, but that's mostly in the north of the country, most of the time news talks about Juarez for example.. that's 3500 km away from Cancun or Playa del Carmen, it's like crossing Europe! nothing is happening down there.. feel safe to come, you're very welcome!

Playa is one of my favourite vacation spots! Beautiful beach, great food and friendly people. Mexico is such a nice place and doesn't deserve the negative press it gets...

@acodjoe23 well if you don`t have much money ask for ADO Buses on airport over 60 or 65 pesos ( 7 US dollars ) It`s more cheap than airport shuttle service (20 to 50 US dollar)

@rulas19685 carnalito sin ofenderte paro la neta creo que te equivocaste sobre el lugar del que hablas, ademas el tipo de moneda "mexicana" que manejamos aqui se llaman pesos y claro que es caro si te paseas por las zonas que van dedicadas al turismo extranjero, claro que si conoces donde... puedes comer con menos de $50 3 personas yo vivi ahi 3 meses y no se gasta tanto como tu crees T_T
