Stan Irby - Honoring a Family Legacy

Irby Ranch, located in Gunnison, Colorado, is owned by Stan Irby. Stan talks about how he was able to keep his land with help from Colorado's Conservation Easement Tax Credit program. Landowners who hold the title to a farm or ranch put their land under easement as a guarantee that the land will never be subdivided or sold for development. In return, they are given a tax credit worth about 25 percent of the value of the land which they may use to offset their own tax expenses or sell to someone else.
