Wicked Jazz Sounds is an Amsterdam based organisation --where Jazz meets dance-. It brings an eclectic mix of the warmth and essence of Jazz and energy of nowadays dance music. It features DJs, live musicians, dancers, VJs and a whole lot of people dancing with a smile. It makes you travel a futuristic journey through jazz, hip-hop, soul, funk, broken-beat, house, drum & bass and beyond...

Wicked Jazz Sounds is both a community of DJs, musicians, dancers, VJs and a party organiser. It has performed in the major Dutch clubs like Paradiso, Melkweg, 013, Panama, Hotel Arena, Nighttown and many more venues and festivals. It also features the Wicked Jazz Sounds club night in the Sugar Factory, Amsterdam every Sunday.

Wicked Jazz Sounds is organised by DJ Phil Horneman and Manne van der Zee since the winter of 2001. DJ Phil Horneman has been using the name Wicked Jazz Sounds since 1998 for a radio show on local radio. Together they decided to use their years of personal experience and expertise in nightlife and music to do exactly what they really wanted to do: They started their own Wicked Jazz Sounds-organisation. From this growing community of musicians and performers came a community of followers that brought it to where it is right now. A burning flame that is ready to take over the world...

Wicked Jazz Sounds was awarded with a 'Golden Gnome' ('gouden kabouter'), being best new initiative in the Dutch dance scene in 2003 and was nominated in 2004 for best party on special location and as best growing organisation.

This year was the breakthrough year for the organisation. The release party for the second compilation album was held in Paradiso and was completely sold out. Furthermore Wicked Jazz Sounds had successful shows at the prestigious festivals like North Sea Jazz, IDFA, Supernatural, Lowlands, Indian Summer, Eurosonic/Noorderslag, Extrema Outdoor, Solar, Mysteryland and more. The third Wicked Jazz Sounds compilation album will be released soon. This time DJ Phil Horneman will be assisted by DJ Leroy Rey. Dance with a smile!
