From the acclaimed documentary Tocar Y Luchar (To Play & To Fight), this clip features Placido Domingo experiencing the power of the Venezuelan youth orchestra.

Once a modest program designed to expose rural children to the wonders of music, the system has become one of the most important and beautiful music phenomena in modern history. To Play and To Fight presents interviews and performances by many of the world's most renowned musicians including the great tenor Placido Domingo, Claudio Abbado, Sir Simon Rattle, Guiseppe Sinopoli, and Eduardo Mata, as they reflect on the impact of such a far-reaching social project.

The documentary also presents the inspirational stories of world class musicians who have been trained by the Venezuelan system, including The Berlin Philharmonic's youngest player Edicson Ruiz and world class conductor Gustavo Dudamel.

This is not the first time I've seen him cry. I remember watching this Mexican news broadcast on the 20th anniversary of the awful 1985 earthquake in Mexico City. As he talked about his experience as well as the death of his young nephew (it was all in Spanish, but I understood most of what he said), he couldn't hold the grief he was feeling. I was so moved by what I saw, I started crying with him. He is such a sweet, sensitive person. I wish more people were like him.

Don Placido Domingo tiene ademas de un gran talento incomparable, un corazón de oro. Pude darle el gusto de mi madre lo viese y valió la pena. A el le gusta ver nuevos talentos y ojalá su esfuerzo de frutos para las nuevas generaciones

Este es un video extraordinario, sin embargo lo que es mas triste es el poco numero de personas que lo a visto. Es realmente lamentable la falta de interes por las expresiones de la mas alta cultura que hay en Venezuela. Resulta chocante e ironico ver un maravilloso pueblo unido al movimiento cultural de TOCAR Y LUCHAR opuesto al otro pueblo, ignorante y salvaje que no quiere tener cabida en lo celestial.
