I actually used to own a Mexican Hairless, the type of dog that was supposed to lead you to the land of the dead in Aztec myth. It's always interesting to learn about a foreign culture. Thank you.

But it is good that people continue the tradition and other people from other countries are leaning from it, that why is so important that we follow the origins of the tradition and history.

All the souls welcome to the altars with honor and repect. Not because they feel sour of bad to take sugar an feel better. Sugar is a sweet representation of welcoming the dead with happiness. Grains and chilis represent health, wealth and the aztec used it because they had lots of respect for the earth and nature could give them.
