I like the stir the stew center idea. I would modify it to have the letters in a pot and maybe even have a wooden spoon to increase the student engagement. A great addition to what is typically an ABC center that I might be rename the Alphabet soup center.

@Doleafol I can't speak for whoever made this video, but there is a lot of information about how to run learning centers. The students need to be taught some things, and other things they can learn on their own in order to complete work at the centers. Usually, their products are assessed using rubrics or other forms of assessment, as well as being evaluated as they work (formative assessment). Many teachers also use portfolios for students to collect their work in throughout the year.

Do you have to model what to do at each individual center as a whole group first.
How do the children know what to do if you just send them off on their own? Also, what do you do with the "products" that they create? Do you "assess" it? grade it? just put it away?
