A film by Marcos Antonio Miranda. Coming Soon! The true story of reggaeton as told by the pioneers and superstars of this genre. The film takes you through the history and the universal appeal of this movement.
The rhythum that Puertoricans called dembow originally is called "Pounder" which was produced by Ramon Bustamante (panamanian) and Dennis (jamaican) in New York 1991 for Sleepy Wonder and Bobo General for the song "Pounder". In the early 90 Dj Playero went to Panama and ask Ramon for those rhythums and he took it to the island with other old school rhythums like "Fever Pitch" and "A Who Seh Me Dun". And this 3 riddims still popular in Puerto Rico and thats what we Reggaeton, Perreo and Malianteo
@BantonRanks7, esos manes nunca han salido de Puerto Rico, eso te lo puedo garantizar. You could sit there and type: "LMAO" all you want. But Puerto Rico is a multicultural island, it is not just Spanish as you claim. Our Afro-Caribbean people are a minority, but they still exist and want to be heard, but as long as ignorant people like you keep trying to bring nothing but negativity to the table, that's when the waters get murky. You guys paint it like Panama is 90% West Indian, and it's not.
@jahlionpr HAHAHA esos manes probably learned english in america & heard jamaican reggae & now are TRYING to sing in patois ppl frm europe & asia sing in patois too LMAO. they not west indians they spanish caribbean different frm english caribbean u try to act like cause PR is in the caribbean P Ricans act or r like west indians. P Ricans dont speak patois yeah there is a small population of west indians living there. but dominicans live there too u gonna act dominicano & listen to merengue too.

80s and 90s a beat would come out and there was no copyright. 15 Jamaican versions and 5 or 6 Panamanian versions.
Everyone knew the beat and no one cared who owned it.
